Your Next Home

Are you considering purchasing a home?

Many homeowners consider a move after the children move out and their home becomes too large for their needs.  At this point, you may be free to travel often or own another property in a warmer climate for winter getaways.  Or perhaps, your health prevents you from safely continuing to stay in your current home.  Regardless of the reason, you may be ready to move into a home that better suits your needs.

Here are some options to consider:

  • Condominium - Quite often, a condominium is a good option if you are looking for low-maintenance on the exterior of your home. Typically, the association takes care of the lawn and snow along with the exterior maintenance of the dwelling. This gives you the peace of mind you'll need while you're away for long periods of time or can no longer take care of the exterior.

  • First Floor Living - Even if you can navigate the stairs, it may make sense to consider a home with the primary bedroom and laundry on the first floor.  This will allow you to continue to live in your home if your health no longer allows you to climb to a second floor in the future.

  • Age 50+ Communities -  A neighborhood consisting of homeowners that are similar in age.  These communities may offer amenities such as a pool, clubhouse, activity groups, etc.

  • Sell First or Buy First - The first step is considering how much you can afford and how you will obtain those funds.  Will you be financing your next purchase?  Do you need to sell your current home in order to qualify for a new mortgage?  Or perhaps your funds are tied to the equity in your current home.  Debbie Johnson can discuss the options available to you and guide you towards making the best decision.  Her knowledge and experience will make your moving experience as stress-free as possible.
