Hazardous Waste Collection - Livingston County

You must sign up for upcoming events. Go to their website by clicking the link below. You can access a list of items they accept.

This valuable public program is supported by the Livingston County Board of Commissioners and the Livingston County Drain Commissioner’s Office and staff. With additional support and cooperation from our Townships, we are able to offer battery collection sites, notification of events, and participation from staff and volunteers.

  • Free for residents of Livingston County!
  • An appointment is required and space is limited. To be able to accommodate as many households as possible, please limit your sign up to one event. If signup is full, please check back every few days in case an appointment opens up.
  • Only bring items to collection locations on appointed days at your scheduled time.

Several household hazardous waste (HHW) programs are offered by Oakland County communities to provide residents with a safe, reliable and environmentally-responsible way to dispose of HHW. These wastes are the substances in your home that can be harmful to humans and the environment if not disposed of properly.

Wayne County's Department of Public Services hosts four Household Hazardous Waste Collections per year for County residents. The collections are designed to accept unwanted household chemicals for proper disposal and electronics for recycling from residents.
